What's happening?
- 23 August 2024: The expiry for the water plan has been extended for three years and the plan will now be in place until 1 December 2026. This extension will give us enough time to consider feedback received through public consultation and complete technical assessments as we review how water is managed and allocated in Central Queensland. View our impact analysis statement about this decision.
- 2 August 2024: We are reviewing this water plan and considering combining it with the Fitzroy and Calliope River basin water plans, along with some coastal basin areas. Find out more about the proposed Central Queensland water plan.
