Using gas at public events
This information will assist event organisers, vendors, gas licence holders, gas suppliers and gas appliance hire companies at public events better understand their gas safety obligations.
Examples of public events include:
- concerts and festivals
- parades and street fairs
- sports games
- charity fundraisers and holiday celebrations.
Responsibilities
Critical gas safety requirements to ensure safety at public events include:
- Gas devices are approved.
- Gas work is conducted by a Queensland gas work licence holder.
- Users of approved gas appliances use them in accordance with provided manufacturer’s instructions to ensure use is in accordance with the approved design.
- The storage and handling of LP gas cylinders is conducted in a safe manner.
