Receiving a decision for a resource authority (tenure) application

The Department of Resources will determine the outcome of your resource authority application and notify you of the decision.

As part of your application, you will be required to pay a security deposit and financial provisioning. Depending on the resource authority you are applying for, you will need to pay the rent for the first year, either before the grant of the authority or within 20 business days of the grant.

After a resource authority is granted, you must comply with the requirements the Department of Resources has attached to the authority, as well as a range of general obligations.

Before you begin

Prior to receiving a resource authority decision, you should be approved as an environmental authority holder by the Department of Environment, Science and Innovation.
