Automated Interactive Voice Response phone system

Commercial fishers can use the Automated Interactive Voice Response (AIVR) phone system to:

  • check quota balances
  • give notices
  • check your vessel tracking unit is polling
  • manually report your position in the event of a vessel tracking unit malfunction (primary vessel only).

The commercial fisher in control of the fishing operation must be the person who calls the AIVR to:

  • give notices
  • manually report the GPS position of the primary boat in the event of a vessel tracking unit malfunction.

Report notices and check quota

Call the AIVR system to report:

You need to know your:

  • primary commercial fishing licence number and PIN
  • commercial fisher licence PIN.

To find or change your PIN, log in to FishNet Secure.

After you have completed a notice, you will receive a transaction number. This number will be read back to you at the end of the call. The transaction number guarantees that the information that you provided was successfully recorded. If you don’t receive a transaction number, your notice has not been submitted.

There are different numbers to call, depending on which fishery you operate in.

  • manually report your location if the vessel tracking unit on the primary boat malfunctions.

First time you call

The AIVR system includes an authentication process. After your first call to the AIVR and completing the initial setup, the AIVR system will ‘remember’ your details for subsequent calls.
