Current status

Expressions of interest for water in the Fitzroy Basin water plan and coastal basins in the proposed Central Queensland water plan are open until 31 October 2026.

Next steps

We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for new water demands within the Fitzroy Basin water plan area to assist with the current water plan review.

If you have recently submitted an EOI for water, you do not need to submit a new request. If your water needs have changed, let us know. Find out more about the Fitzroy Basin water plan.

We are also seeking EOIs for water in the coastal basins of Styx, Shoalwater and Waterpark. These catchments may be included in the proposed Central Queensland (CQ) water plan.

EOI process

Anyone with an interest in water in these areas is encouraged to express their interest by 31 October 2026.

Your feedback will help us understand where demand for new water is located and which water sources may be suitable to meet that demand.
