Landing places for commercial fisheries reporting

The commercial fisher in control of the fishing operations must provide a landing place as part of the:

What is a landing place

The landing place depends on how you are taking fish:

using a boat, but not a beach seine net: the landing place is where the boat will be landed at the end of the fishing operation.
using a boat and a beach seine net: the landing place is the beach or foreshore where the boat will be used to carry out fishing.
without using a boat: the landing place is the place where the fish will be landed at the end of the fishing operation.

The Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol (QBFP) must be able to undertake routine inspections at a landing place. If the QBFP cannot access a fisher’s landing place to undertake an inspection, the fisher would be considered non-compliant and penalties may apply.

If you’re not sure if your proposed landing place is acceptable, contact your local QBFP.

If you land at a location that isn’t listed, you can apply for a new landing code. If the proposed landing place meets the requirements, we will generate a new landing place code.
