Water metering for unsupplemented water

Water entitlement holders who are required to have an authorised water meter are responsible for the purchase of their own meter, as well as its installation, validation, and maintenance.

These metered entitlement holders for unsupplemented water (non-urban) are required to provide up to 2 meter readings to the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy within a water year for each water meter.

This guide explains your requirements for water metering in Queensland.

Consultation on water measurement policy proposals

We recently released new policy proposals for strengthening rural water measurement. We’re seeking feedback from water entitlement holders to make sure water is used fairly and transparently. Provide your submissions by 5pm Friday 29 November 2019.
