Community connection to the water in the GABORA water plan area

The Great Artesian Basin (GAB) has sustained societies and communities for thousands of years.

The GAB has also been vital to the development of inland Queensland, often being the only reliable source of water available to towns, pastoralists and other industries.

During the water plan review, we will be engaging with communities across the GAB to ensure that their social, cultural and economic values and uses are considered in the water plan.

Engagement will help inform water plan outcomes to ensure that water is available for a range of social, cultural and economic aspirations of communities that rely on the GAB.

We want to engage with you about the Great Artesian Basin and other regional aquifers (GABORA) water plan review and replacement.
