Register as a biosecurity entity

If you own or keep certain animals in Queensland, you have to be registered as a biosecurity entity. Read more about who must be registered.

If you own livestock when you register as a biosecurity entity, the place you nominate in your application will be assigned a Property Identification Code (PIC).

Find out how registration works with PICs and other systems.

Before you register

You might already be registered if you held a PIC on 1 July 2016.

If you think this might apply to you, check if you're registered.

If you are a beekeeper, you also might be registered already.

New biosecurity entity registration

To register for the first time, you need to apply for registration as a biosecurity entity.

You'll need to provide information about the landowner and the occupier. The landowner is the person, persons or organisation that owns the land where the animal(s) are kept. The occupier is the person who lives at the place where the animal(s) are kept.

If you're registering an organisation, it's important to provide contact details for a preferred contact person so we can contact them in the case of a biosecurity emergency.
