These reports help determine if you will need extra support during recovery.
Primary producer survey:
- Report any damages or losses to your farm through the disaster impact survey.
- Include date-stamped photos, which most mobile phone cameras do automatically.
- Only take photos if it is safe to do so.
Small business survey:
Access emergency fodder
Contact your local council to discuss arrangements for emergency fodder support.
Access financial assistance
Primary producers in eligible local government areas may be able to access:
- freight subsidies of up to $5,000 per property to move essential materials such as fodder, building and fencing materials, machinery, and animals for restocking
- disaster assistance loans, up to $250,000
- disaster assistance (essential working capital) loans, up to $100,000
- exceptional disaster recovery assistance grants, up to $75,000.

The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) can help you apply for government financial assistance and other rural financial counselling advice.
Affected smaller scale producers and agriculture supply chain businesses can access small business support.

- Protect the safety and welfare of your animals during and after natural disasters.
- Safely dispose of animal carcasses.
- Get help to identify stray livestock.
Queensland Floods veterinarian hotline
The Australian Veterinary Association has opened a hotline for producers and animal owners affected by the 2025 western Queensland floods.
Call 1800 621 918 for:
- support and general advice
- referral to your nearest veterinary clinic for treatment if needed.
