Annual reporting for coal and mineral activities

A new minerals and coal reporting guideline and templates were released on 28 June 2019. Find out more about the new reporting requirements.

You must lodge a report every year if you hold certain coal or mineral resource authorities. For exploration permits and mineral development licences, you must also lodge a separate expenditure statement.

As part of your annual report, you must provide a full technical summary of the authorised activities, including maps, and a digital copy of all data assay results and any geophysical, geochemical, drilling or remote sensing data.

This page explains how to meet your notification and reporting obligations under Queensland resources legislation. Download a flowchart of annual reporting requirements (PDF, 163KB).

Resource authorities this applies to

  • Exploration permit for coal or minerals
  • Mineral development licence
  • Mining lease for coal or oil shale
