Qld eFisher app—important technical update
An important technical update to the Qld eFisher app is scheduled for 10am, 24 February 2026.
Why this update is happening
The update will make the app:
- more stable (less crashing)
- work better on new phones and tablets
- more secure.
What will happen during the update
The update will be released at 10am on 24 February 2026.
During this time, the app may not work properly.
You might experience:
- the app failing to load or freezing
- trouble completing your logbooks or quota reporting
- a loss of logbook data that hasn’t been submitted yet (e.g. any offline pending transactions).
What to do if the app stops working
If the app doesn’t work during this update, you must switch to:
- paper logbooks
- Automated Interactive Voice Response (AIVR) phone reporting for quota notices.
You must do this so you continue to meet your reporting obligations.
How to avoid problems
If you are on a fishing operation during the time of the update, we strongly recommend that you don’t use the app—use paper logbooks and the AIVR phone system instead for that trip.
If you do use the app during the update, you should take screenshots of each page of your logbook details.
If you don’t want to use paper logbooks and the AIVR phone system as backup or an alternative, consider not fishing during the update time.
