Changes to access for sample delivery
The B3 loading bay and Joe Baker Street can only be accessed via Peter Doherty Street, due to a road closure on Boggo Road. Please advise your delivery service as some packages have not been delivered.
The road closure will continue until the end of September 2026.
You can submit samples using overnight courier or Express Post, or by delivering the specimen personally.
Samples without a completed online submission form may be delayed.
When to send
Plant or soil samples
Post samples on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, if possible. Samples that sit in transport over weekends can become degraded.
Water samples
Send your samples to the laboratory:
- on a Monday using an overnight courier or Express Post
- or
- by delivering them in-person between 7.30am and 3.30pm on a Monday or Tuesday.
Before you send
- Correctly package your water samples or plant and soil samples.
- Complete the online sample submission form.
- Print out and include your confirmation email (only) with your samples.
- Meet any quarantine laws or requirements.
- Address your sample correctly.

Deliver in-person
You can drop off samples to the B3 loading dock on Joe Baker Street between 7.30am and 3.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Due to roadworks, we have new access guidelines.
How to find us
- Enter Peter Doherty Street from Annerley Road.
- Turn left into Joe Baker Street (there are significant Cross River Rail construction activities impacting Joe Baker Street).
- The B3 loading bay entrance is on the left, drive into the loading bay.
- Ring the buzzer at the roller door for help if there is no one present when you arrive.
