Licences

To operate in the fishery, you need a:

• primary commercial fishing licence with the L4 fishery symbol
• commercial fisher licence for the person in charge of fishing activities.

Reporting and monitoring

Commercial fishers must:

• complete daily logbooks
• keep sales dockets
• have vessel tracking on their boats.

Closures

• Standard closed seasons and closed waters apply.
• Commonwealth marine park zoning rules.

Equipment

• Fish can be taken using fishing lines.
• A maximum of 3 fishing lines can be used at the same time.
• A total of 6 hooks or lures attached per person.

• Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson)

• Barramundi (Lates calcarifer)
• Black jewfish (Protonibea diacanthus)
• Blue threadfin (Eleutheronema tetradactylum)
• Giant queenfish (Scomberoides commersonnianus)

• Silver javelin (Pomadasys argenteus)
