Shared security grants (Secure Communities Partnership Program)

Apply for funding for larger, coordinated security projects that help deter crime, reduce losses and create safer business environments. These projects will provide shared security benefits to multiple Queensland small and family businesses.

Projects can be led by:

  • an eligible small business
  • a commercial property owner, lessor, body corporate, trustee or property manager
  • other eligible entities with authority to undertake the proposed works.

If you're looking for funding for security improvements that mainly benefit an individual business, read about our small business security grants.

In short

You must meet the eligibility criteria and apply as either:

  • a business-led project
  • a property or precinct-led project.

Projects must provide a direct and material security benefit to at least 2 eligible Queensland small and family businesses.

You can apply for grant funding between $20,000 and $200,000 (excluding GST) and use the grant to pay for:

  • physical security and site-hardening infrastructure
  • access control, alarm and monitored security systems
  • security lighting and environmental security improvements
  • surveillance and detection infrastructure.

You must contribute 50% of your eligible project costs. This means your total eligible project costs must be between $40,000 and $400,000 (excluding GST).

This is a competitive grant program. Funding is limited and not all eligible applications will be funded.
