Natural Resource Management Expansion Program
The Natural Resource Management (NRM) Expansion Program provides $117.84 million over 4 years from 2024-25 to support on-the-ground projects that protect and enhance Queensland’s natural resource assets.
Delivered in collaboration with NRM Regions Queensland, the program expands the capacity of regional NRM organisations deliver on-ground land, water and biodiversity programs across the state.
The program is a closed program, limited to 12 Queensland regional NRM organisations.
The program will fund projects that:
- improve land and soil condition
- support biodiversity values
- support waterways, and coastal ecosystems to function effectively.

The program is limited to 12 organisations:

- Cape York Natural Resource Management Ltd
- Desert Channels Queensland Ltd
- Fitzroy Basin Association Ltd
- Northern Gulf Resource Management Group Ltd
- Healthy Land and Water Ltd
- NQ Dry Tropics Ltd
- Reef Catchments (Mackay Whitsunday Isaac) Limited
- Southern Gulf NRM Ltd
- Southern Queensland Natural Resource Management Ltd
- FNQ NRM LTD
- Queensland Regional Natural Resource Management Groups Collective Ltd.
Eligible projects
Funding will go to projects that will deliver outcomes within the following priority areas:
- land and soil—improve landscape condition, resilience and ability to resist and recover from natural disasters and climate change
- water—support aquatic ecosystems to function effectively
- biodiversity—support species and ecological communities to thrive.

Include all required documentation when you submit your application. You can make multiple submissions, but each project proposal will require a separate submission form and plan template.
