Condamine Fractured Rock general reserve
Current status
The Expressions of interest (EOI) process for accessing unallocated groundwater from the general reserve of the Condamine and Balonne water plan has now closed.
The EOI process provided valuable insights into the demand for unallocated groundwater from the general reserve of the Condamine Fractured Rock area under the Condamine Balonne water plan.
We’re now assessing how new water could be made available to support industries, agriculture, and communities in the region.
Next steps
We have commenced reviewing all feedback received through submitted EOIs forms and workshops held within the Fractured Rock area to help us in understanding the demand for water in this area. By understanding the level of demand for water, the location of the demand, and types of water products that may be available, aids the department in determining the most appropriate unallocated water release process, and whether there is sufficient interest to inform a decision on a release.
We will continue to engage with those that submitted an expression of interest, community members and other key stakeholders to help shape how water is made available.
You are still able to submit your interest at any time and make an application for new water should it be released.
