Fees for gas distribution authorities
You must pay an application fee when you apply for a gas distribution authority. This is a requirement under the Gas Supply Act 2003.
If you are issued with an authority, you must pay an annual fee to the Department of Energy and Climate (DEC).
You must also pay a fee to transfer or amend the authority.
List of fees
The fees and charges under the Gas Supply Act 2003 and the Gas Supply Regulation 2007 are calculated using the Queensland Government's fee unit model introduced in 2022. Refer to the Acts Interpretation (Fee Unit) Regulation 2022 for the current value of a fee unit.
Both application and annual fees increase on 1 July each year in line with the Queensland Government's indexation policy.
The Queensland Government is applying a 0% increase to the application and annual fees for the 2024–25 financial year, commencing 1 July 2024.
This means the fees will remain the same as the fees charged for the 2023–24 financial year, which commenced 1 July 2023.
