Commercial fishing fees and forms
Fisheries Queensland issues commercial fishing authorities (i.e. licences, permits, quotas) for Queensland.
You will need to fill out an application form to:
- apply for a new commercial fishing authority
- transfer an authority to another person
- change the details on an authority
- surrender an authority.
In Queensland, fees are charged in arrears. The two 6-monthly invoice periods end on 31 December and 30 June of each year. Clients can receive invoices and pay their fees electronically through MyPost Digital Mailbox, a service of Australia Post. A number of other payment options through Australia Post will be included on the Tax Invoice/Statement from February 2016.

Fees and forms for Torres Strait commercial fishing licences
Fisheries Queensland no longer issues commercial fishing licences for the Torres Strait area. The Protected Zone Joint Authority (PZJA) now issues these licences. Find out more about the fees and forms for commercial fishing licences in the Torres Strait Protected Zone.
