Reducing brain damage post-stroke
Researchers at The University of Queensland have developed a neuroprotective therapeutic to apply in the treatment of brain injury following a stroke. The agent is a peptide-based inhibitor.
Unique selling point/competitive advantage
When administered more than 4 hours after stroke in a rodent model, a single dose of the therapeutic demonstrates significant reduction in infarct size and improvement in motor coordination and neurological score.
