Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for the cruise industry

To support the cruise industry restart and minimise risks to passengers, the Queensland, New South Wales, Victorian and Australian Governments have finalised the Eastern seaboard cruising protocols (PDF, 207KB).

The cruising protocols outline requirements for cruise operators before, during and after a cruise voyage, to minimise the risk of outbreaks and support a safe journey for all.

Vaccination rules for cruising

All international passengers travelling to Australia must comply with Australian Government entry requirements.

All passengers cruising from and within Queensland must comply with the cruising protocols. This includes the requirement for all passengers aged 12 years and older being fully vaccinated before cruising.

Queensland Health also strongly recommends that eligible children be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
