2025–26 Queensland Budget – support for small and family business
The 2025–26 Queensland Budget has committed more than $130 million over the next 4 years to support small and family businesses.
Highlights include:
- Small Business Support Network – $16.8 million to extend Support Network to June 2028. The network offers free confidential access to financial counsellors and business wellness coaches, providing wraparound support, especially during challenging times and natural disasters
- Secure Communities Partnership Program – $40 million over 2 years to help local councils install critical safety upgrades in small business precincts
- Apprenticeship Pilot Program – $19 million for an apprenticeship pilot program that will support small and family businesses by helping to fund the cost of apprentice wages, boosting skills and employment
- Construction Business Advancement Grants – $8.8 million over 2 years to support small and family construction businesses and sole traders to purchase business management software and training with $5,000 grants, improving their productivity and bookkeeping
- Professional Care Providers Business Advancement Grants – $5 million over 2 years to support professional care providers to purchase business management software and training with $5,000 grants, improving their productivity and bookkeeping
- Small and Family Business Innovation Pathway – $1 million over the next 4 years to directly engage Queensland small and family businesses for short-term initiatives to solve specific problems or improve government service delivery.
