Cyber security self-help toolkit for mentors

The new Cyber security self-help toolkit for mentors helps Mentoring for Growth (M4G) mentors and businesses work together to better manage the cyber security elements associated with running a business.

The toolkit was developed in partnership with Cynch, specialists in cyber security for small business, and the Queensland Cyber Security Innovation Node. The Node is part of the AustCyber-backed Australian network co-funded with the Queensland Government.

As a business owner, regularly checking your technology for unusual activity is one way to improve your cyber safety, or it may be many months before an issue is detected, making recovery much harder. Simple things such as using the Australian Government’s free Cyber Security Assessment Tool, creating an asset register, installing tech updates and having up-to-date antivirus software can also help you protect your assets and information.

Register for a session with a M4G mentor and they can help you to check your businesses’ cyber fitness and reduce your risks when working online: www.business.qld.gov.au/mentoring
