Small business consultation panels

Small business owners and operators have the opportunity to share their practical experience with the Queensland Government to make it easier to do business.

Small businesses are invited to join our Small Business Consultation Panels to provide advice on the practical impacts of Queensland Government policy and regulation changes.

You can register your interest by Friday 31 August 2018 to offer practical insights into how potential policy and regulation changes will affect small businesses.

We will start by running the panels as a pilot and then we would like your feedback to help refine and improve our processes.

How panels will operate

The panels will provide confidential advice to identify the practical impacts of Queensland Government policy and regulatory proposals on small business, as well as propose ideas to reduce any impacts.

Each panel will comprise 4 to 6 small business owners or operators and up to 2 representatives from the government agency proposing the policy being considered.

Attending panel meetings

The panels will be either face-to-face or virtual (i.e. via teleconference or videoconference) and run for approximately 2 hours. Panel members may be required to do some reading to prepare.

Membership of the panels is voluntary. Members will not be paid, but may be eligible for reimbursement of costs associated with attending meetings.

Register your interest

Registrations will close on Friday 31 August 2018.

Current Queensland-based small business owners or operators are eligible to register an expression of interest.

To register, complete the registration form including:

  • details of your business experience
  • your policy areas of interest
  • contact details for 1 professional referee.

Due diligence checks will be undertaken on each application.

Expressions of interest will remain current for 12 months.
