Land access laws
Queensland's land access laws provide landholders with greater protection and security in relation to resource exploration and development activities, including coal seam gas (CSG) activities, being undertaken on your land.
The laws ensure that:
- you will be fairly compensated for activities on your land
- resource companies minimise the impact on existing land and business operations.
The resources industry must comply with the Land Access Code (PDF, 354KB). The code outlines the Queensland Government's expectations for how resource companies communicate and consult with you, and how they behave while on your property.
This guide provides an overview of landholder rights and responsibilities in granting resource companies access to their land.
