Groundwater management in the Surat CMA
The Queensland Government established the Surat Cumulative Management Area (Surat CMA) in 2011 in response to coal seam gas (CSG) development in the area.
The framework for groundwater management in the CMA is provided by the Surat underground water impact report (UWIR).
This guide provides access to the UWIR, associated technical studies and a bore search for landholders to check predicted impacts on their bores. It also explains how the report is being implemented, including the responsibilities of tenure holders and government agencies.
