Townsville
If your business or not-for-profit organisation has been affected by the severe storm in Townsville in March 2012, you may be eligible for assistance. Visit the QRAA website for information on low-interest loans.
Gympie
In Gympie, staff from the Queensland Government are helping flood-affected businesses identify their needs and developing tailored assistance.
South West Queensland
The Queensland Government is holding a series of flood assistance forums for primary producers and small businesses affected by the January-March 2012 South West Queensland floods. The mobile office will also be visiting flood-affected areas to help locals with the recovery process. Find out more about mobile office visits and flood assistance forums.
Financial assistance for South West Queensland
If you are a primary producer, small business operator or not-for-profit organisation affected by the flooding, NDRRA category B and C assistance has been activated for the following council areas - Balonne, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Maranoa, Murweh and Paroo.
Freight subsidies and low-interest loans (Category B assistance)
Freight subsidies of up to $5,000 are available from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) for primary producers in the affected areas to assist in the movement of materials such as fodder, building materials, machinery and fuel to assist in the recovery efforts. Low-interest loans are also available to eligible small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations in affected council areas. These loans, administered by QRAA, are for repairing or replacing damaged plant, equipment, buildings, supplying stock and carry on requirements such as essential property operations and paying rent and rates. Recovery grants (Category C assistance)
Recovery grants of up to $25,000 are available to eligible small businesses, primary producers and not-for-profit organisations in affected council areas. These grants, administered by QRAA, are to assist with flood clean-up and recovery. Visit the QRAA website for more information about recovery grants.
