Queensland Business Commissioner
The Queensland Business Commissioner is cutting red tape to help you run your business in Queensland. The Business Commissioner wants your suggestions on how to improve Queensland Government regulations and reduce the burden of red tape on your small or medium business. Your feedback and suggestions will help the Commissioner advise the Queensland Government about best practice regulation.
Role of the Business Commissioner
The Business Commissioner is taking an active role in:
- leading Queensland's Smart Regulation Reform Agenda to review and improve existing government regulations to save Queensland businesses time and money
- driving business and community confidence in the economy and boosting conditions for business success by coordinating regulatory simplification plans
- liaising with Queensland businesses through peak industry bodies (including the Queenland Small Business Advisory Council)
- advising the Queensland Government about how to improve regulatory issues.
Saving business time and money
The Queensland Government is reviewing existing regulation to cut red tape and aims to:
- reduce the compliance burden on business and the administrative burden on government to save $150 million a year by the end of 2012-13
- give time and money back to business, community and government.
