Doing business in South Queensland

South Queensland is a diverse and economically significant region. It is home to long-established industries such as agriculture and food processing as well as growing industries like tourism and energy.

The region's agricultural industries are worth almost $3.5 billion a year and are supported by a growing food processing sector.

Regional tourism has grown significantly across the entire area, which boasts some spectacular natural wonders, including the Great Dividing Range, Fraser Island and dinosaur fossils in the far west.

The emerging coal seam gas (CSG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) industries will also mean significant national and international investment into southern Queensland communities.

Linked by road, rail and air to Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and major export terminals, the South Queensland region offers significant opportunities for business growth and investment.
