Review of Queensland's tour desk commissions
In response to concerns expressed by industry, the Queensland Government commissioned an independent review of tour desk commissions in Queensland. Consultations with the tourism industry related to:
- the level of commission fees tour desk operators charge when taking bookings on behalf of operators
- the nature of services provided by tour desks
- the relationship between tour operators and tour desks.
The initial review resulted in an issues paper that was made available for public comment. The issues paper outlined matters that were identified during the consultations, and suggests ways to address them. A further round of consultation identified and developed recommendations to address the issues identified.
