Disaster
Each year in Queensland, businesses suffer loss from disasters. Disasters take many forms and the results can be catastrophic to business and the community. As a result of Cyclone Larry in March 2006, significant damage or disruption occurred to houses, businesses and industry, utilities, infrastructure (including road, rail and air transport systems, schools, hospitals and communications) and crops.
You need to make your business more resilient by planning and preparing to minimise the possibility of damage, interruption and loss of business if and when a disaster strikes. We recommend that you develop a Business Continuity Plan to deal with this threat.
